Timber Frameworks' Staff and Experience

Timber Frameworks has a team of very experienced people. Our team is led by Roland G Adams, Managing Director, seen here on the left of the picture.

Since taking a degree in Timber Technology at Brunel University’s Buckinghamshire College High Wycombe Campus, Roland (seen here on the left) has worked in the timber frame industry.

Since taking a degree in Timber Technology at Brunel University’s Buckinghamshire College High Wycombe Campus, Roland Adams has worked in the timber 
frame industry. He set up his first timber frame factory in 1981 and was a Production Manager in a plant producing over a hundred kits per week in 1983. His 
production experience with technically demanding projects has underscored a successful career as CEO of leading timber frame companies Llewellyn Timber 
Engineering, Medina Gimson and the timber frame division of Beazer Homes. He is an Associate of The Institute of Wood Science and has sat on various timber 
frame committees including the Timber Frame and Engineering Committee of the British Woodworking Federation. He was Vice Chairman of the Scottish 
Consortium of Timber Frame Industries which became the UK Timber Frame Association in 2002.

 

Gordon L Foulds is Chairman and Purchasing Director.

Prior to joining the board at Timber Frameworks Gordon was Managing Director of Meyer International’s Scottish operation, Sinclair Lang. Gordon is widely known in the timber trade, having worked in every aspect since joining W Lang in 1955. He is a past President of the Scottish Timber Trade Association and was awarded Knight First Class of the Order of the Lion of Finland for his long term co-operation with the Finnish Timber Industry.

 

Gordon C Taylor is Technical Director and heads our Technical Team. He has over twenty five years of experience in the timber frame and private house building sector. His knowledge of timber frame design in both housing and commercial building is a great asset and he and his team always deliver designs which are accurate and on time. Gordon has also been responsible for the timber frame design in some of the UK’s most prestigious hotel and time share developments (Cameron House, Craigendarroch & Underscar).

Lynn Munro is Technical Manager.

Lynn is a very experienced timber frame designer and used to working under pressure. Her role involves interpreting client’s architectural drawings and “making them work” in practice.

Andrew Burgess is Design Technician.

Andrew assists both Lynn and Gordon with preparing production drawings for our timber frame kits.

Linda Coulson is Office Manager.

Linda maintains excellent records and operates our internal systems for monitoring and control.

 

Danny McAllister is Production Manager.

Danny is a hands on Production Manager with over fifteen years experience in timber frame construction. His job is to bring together the numerous resources for production on a just-in-time basis. Focused on quality and scheduling, with Danny and his team delivery dates are promises that are kept.

In addition, we have a crew of 38 timber frame kit technicians working in our production factory.

 

John F C Armstrong is Non-Executive Director.

John was Managing Director of timber group Mallinson Denny (Scotland) Ltd in 1981. He was a member of the Mallinson Denny MBO team from Unilever in 1983 and had executive responsibility for Scotland and the North of England. The Group was sold to Hillsdown Holdings in late 1987 and subsequently to Wickes, where he served on both boards. He participated in the acquisition of Firstbase Timber in 1990. This company established a merchant distributorship throughout Scotland and was sold to Wolseley Plc in 1999. John is also a Non-Executive Director of James Jones and Sons Ltd, the UK’s second largest sawmilling company.
